Lincoln Re-designs to be Launch In China

In the US, LINCOLN has been synonym of luxury cars for a long time, but it is not case everywhere else. According to CEO Alan Mulally told Bloomberg, this situation may be about to change. "We have a great luxury brand in LINCOLN, which we have recommitted ourselves to,"  "There's going to be tremendous pull from China to have access to these great vehicles."1

Along with other North American dealers, including Spradley Barr Fort Collins in Colorado, the Chinese are about to experience new LINCOLN cars. American luxury is big business overseas, after all.

At the moment, only a few LINCOLN models are available in China, but LINCOLN is in the process of building 4 new factories and is hoping to triple their China lineup by 2015. In 2010, over 18 million vehicles purchase by the Chinese drivers, more than 6 million were luxury cars and SUVs.

The challenge for the product development team is to come up with a new LINCOLN image. This new LINCOLN brand design might result in the lost of the large front grille, that was so particular to the LINCOLN line up.

The new 2012 LINCOLN MKZ, to be revealed soon at the Detroit Auto show, might give us an idea of the first of many cars to be heading to China, as well as the North American market.
